African Mango Makes Sense
Written By: perry in Organic, Weight Loss on February 8, 2012African Mango, (Irvingia Gabonensis) is not the same tree as the common mango tree, (Mangifera indica). The reason it is called the African Mango is because it is a ‘drupe’, or a fruit with a fleshy outer part surrounding a seed or stone. Peaches, apricots and cherries are also drupes but none of these fruits come near the African Mango when it comes to weight loss and other health related benefits.
Mango Mix Ups
There has been a lot of misinformation surrounding this fruit and some even claiming this is yet another scam. The problem is, there is some truth to these allegations. The images used to depict the fruit are not of African Mango at all, in fact they are almost always of the common mango that we love to eat. This has led some people buying common mangoes and eating them and expecting the same results that are claimed for people eating African Mango based health products.
African Mango Targets Metabolism
Most African Mango health products contain ingredients other than the main one but apart from that, common mango does not have the essential ingredients contained in African Mango that are so specific to fat loss. These ingredients target your metabolism and cause it to react in a positive way, breaking down the fat building components of your diet and burning them up rather than converting them to fatty deposits. Common Mango does not have the same affect on your metabolism.
Look For ‘Irvingia Gabonensis’
So read the information that comes with the product and make sure what you are buying is African Mango extract, look for the words Irvingia Gabonensis and make sure you aren’t just taking a lot of disguised sugar. Eating African Mango by itself will aid weight loss, it can’t help but do that. However, taking the product and exercising is the sure fire way to lose a lot of weight a lot faster and get toned at the same time.
