Written By: admin in Acne Treatment on September 19, 2009Most up us have suffered from acne. However, the causes behind the sufferings may not be always the same. Let’s discuss the most common causes that result into formation of acne.
Acne is caused from bacteria named Propionibacterium acnes, which remains in the skin. These bacteria use sebum as its main food for growth. Production of sebum increases during adolescence and starts decreasing from the age of 20. More white blood cells come into the hair follicles and they produce an enzyme. As the wall of the follicles gets damaged, the contents present there enter the dermis. Because of this process, the entire area gets inflammated and red bumps appear. Due to the bacteria, free fatty acids are formed, which not only increases the inflammation, but also irritates the area to a great extent.
The presence of bacteria named Propionibacterium acnes is more in a person who is suffering from acne. When the quantity of the bacteria is less, you will not suffer from acne. Because of these reasons, acne occurs mostly when you are under the age of 20.
Sometimes, the sebum gets trapped in the follicles and some of the hair follicles get an obstruction. As a result, those cells become sticky and it creates a particular type of acne known as comedones.
If you are a teenager, you must take special care of your health to prevent formation of acne. You should never consume too much junk. You should also drink adequate amount of water. Having a proper diet accompanied with workouts will help you stay away from acne attacks.
