Dangers of Eating Too Much Sugar

Ok, so you know that if you eat too much sugar chances are you are going to get fat. That’s a no brainer. But there are so many dangers that are directly proportionate to a diet high in sugar that you would be amazed. Of course we are well aware of the fact that we leave ourselves vulnerable to the onset of diabetes and heart disease if we eat too much sugar over an extended period of time. Then there is the obvious tooth decay that results from sugar in the diet, not to mention the effect it has on our skin. Talk about premature aging! But what you may not realize is that it is more difficult to lower our intake of sugar than you might imagine.
Because the food industry knows that sugar does something powerfully to awaken our taste buds, there is hidden sugar in almost every refined or processed food out there. Read the labels sometime and you will see that there is corn syrup, molasses, barley syrup, brown sugar, cane syrup and a number of other ‘disguises’ for the sugar monster.
If that was the only sugar you were consuming in the course of a day you might be ok in the long run, however, add to that the foods and beverages that we ‘know’ are high in sugar like fruits, some vegetables, sodas and desserts and you are eating dangerously high levels of sugar.
It is next to impossible to cut out the added sugars in foods that are manufactured unless you cook everything from scratch using only whole grain, unrefined flours and fresh fruits and vegetables. Just be aware of the fact that eating too much sugar can cause some pretty nasty diseases, some of which are life-threatening, and you will be motivated to restricting your intake naturally. Eating too much sugar really is dangerous and while not easy to control, you can at least strive to moderate your intake.
