These studies and media press have been mainly aimed at green teas, at the moment there is a lot of attention being paid to the tea known as oolong or wu long. All the Asian teas are from the same plant Camelia sinensis. The difference is in how it is processed once it has been harvested.

Oolong tea is made by allowing the tea leaves to oxidize for a short time after picking this makes the leaves turn a dark color. This oxidisation process has been shown to reduce the amount of one type of antioxidant that is in the leaves, but as shown that it gives other properties a boost.
